Urbino is at the very heart of a wonderful region, providing fascinating places such as San Leo, Gradara, Gubbio, San Marino, Assisi, Frasassi Caves, Furlo Pass, Mount Catria and Mount Carpegna.
We can suggest twelve different one-day trips for You to discover art towns, historical places and breathtaking sceneries. Your holiday will turn in a wonderful and relaxing adventure.
San Marino

Dating back to september 3rd 301, it is said to be the oldest republic still existing. It hosts several events all year round, such as:
- April 1st and October 1st: Investiture Ceremony of the Captains Regent - a fascinating cerimony governed by a rigorous protocol;
- May 15th: Thousand Miles Race 2009 - the traditional race is passing through the Old Town;
- in July (13 - 18) San Marino Etnofestival;
- from July 23rd to 26th Medieval Days;
- September 3rd: Feast Day of St Marinus and of the Foundation of the Republic - in the morning religious cerimonies are held, while during the afternoon, You can attend a tournament of crossbows and a concert. The day closes with a fireworks show;
- in December The Christmas of Wonders is taking music, entertainment and food events in the Old Town.
Gubbio

This medieval town is well worth a visit. It is rich in monuments, displays and happenings such as:
- Ceri Race Festival (May 15th), which has been held every year without interruption from the XII century
- Racing silk of the Crossbow (May 31st), a contest of arms dating back to the XII century
- Trasimeno Music Festival of Angela Hewittdal (from June 27th to July 3rd - 5th edition)
- Gubbio Summer Festival (from July 20th to August 8th), a world-famous musical happening at its 20th edition
- Gubbio No Borders Italian Jazz Festival (from August 10th to 25th)
Gradara

Paolo and Francesca are the well-known lovers sung by Dante in his Comedy and their town is one of the most famous places of the region. Gradara has been defined "the capital of the Middle Ages" and it hosts several happenings linked to history:
- from June 25th to September 6th You can attend "The Middle Ages at the Cinema"
- some restaurants in town offer medieval suppers (Juna 14th and 28th, July 12th and 19th, August 9th and 23rd, September 6th and 20th)
- in July (18th-20th) the town will be brought back 600 years in time with the Assedy to the Castle
- historical re-enactments are held in June (15th and 29th), July (6th and 20th), August (10th and 31st) and September (7th)
San Leo Castle

You only have to choose among visiting the new permanent display on The Art of the War in the Renaissance, the old town - which is rich in romanic buildings - and the world-famous castle. San Leo patronises very interesting events:
- on May 30th and 31st the Cherry Festival is taking music, fireworks and good food in town;
- on June 27th and 28th the Giullari in Festival - San Leo incontra Francesco event is taking place;
- from August 22nd to 26th Alchimia Alchimie will pay the annual tribute to Cagliostro. A series of free conferences about alchemy (every Saturday from May 23rd to August 15th) will precede this appointment.
If You love antiquities fairs, You can't miss the Market of the Fortress (May 31st, August 30th and Novenber 29th).
